Angels Landing Zion National Park

Angels Landing (Zion National Park) Professional Review and Guide

"This trail provides a spectacular day trip for well-conditioned hikers who have no fear of heights. It receives heavy use, so chances for solitude are slim. Beyond Scout Lookout, the trail becomes an uneven route across sheer cliffs, with chains bolted into the rock face to serve as handrails.

This part of the route can be extremely slippery and dangerous when wet or icy and should be avoided unless dry conditions can be depended upon. It is not a good place to take young children in any weather."

The twisted trail makes the first paved part a breeze... Loved the zigzag steeper incline to the amazing climbing of the chains... Totally worth the views

Well I am super grateful I did it. It's a great trail ..I do suggest the earlier mornings in the summer, it was 102 that day! You can hike this trail alone because there's so many people that you won't be alone. I loved it all, it's heavenly.

What an Amazing trail! Not for the faint of heart! There were lots of people we met on the way to the top that were turning back. it is very high up and at some points it gets insanely narrow. At points you are only holding on to a chain on a very narrow rock. Favorite hike so far.

I didn't know that I was afraid of heights. I didn't make it to the top because it was too scary for me!

Steep but well worth the hike when you get to the top. Should have some physical conditioning to do this.

I just recently returned from Zion for my Bachelor party and had a wonderful time. The park itself is truly breathtaking and the steep canyon walls on either side present a picturesque landscape no matter where you are. The only downside like many others have stated is the crowds, which is to be expected at such an accessible and impressive park. As for Angels Landing, it may be the most rewarding hike under 5 miles in the country if not the world. When you reach the summit after a strenuous 2.5 mile hike the views are breathtaking. The crowd’s definitely put a damper on the whole experience, but we found a route to get further down the edge where we sat alone and quiet to take it all in. Overall a must if visiting the park and hang your feet over the edge for a little extra excitement.

This is my all time favorite hike, and I've hiked a lot of trails. When you're at the top, you feel you can accomplish anything.

Would have been a 5 had it not be insanely popular. I was on the second tram of the morning and was still hit with crowds. The popularity makes the summit a lot less fun. It's hard to take it all in when people are all over the place talking and eating and what not.

This is an exceptional hike. Well maintained trail and a definite to-do while in Zion. I would not recommend taking children younger than 10 on this hike. It does get very technical towards the end of the hike but there are plenty of areas to take pictures and turn back before it gets too serious.
