Dry Canyon Campground Professional Review and Guide

"Although the sites at Dry Canyon aren’t numbered, I’ve put numbers on the map as an aid to identifying them. There are six sites in all, each one hugging the shores of Diamond Fork. The best hugger of the bunch, site 3, is closer to the level ground along the riverbed. Sites 1 and 2 sit away and up the hill just a hair, similar to site 6.

You’ll have to get creative in sites 4–6 when it comes to putting up your tent. There’s not a big opening of bare ground, and it’s less level than you hope it might be. These sites do sit the farthest back from the road, however, so your creativity will be rewarded. I’m just plain baffled about why there’s no fee to camp at Dry Canyon. (The U.S. Forest Service doesn’t even list it on their website, but it’s there, I promise!) Sure, there’s no water, but each site has a nice picnic table, a grill, and a concrete fire ring—amenities that could easily warrant charging a couple of bucks a night."
