Balsam Campground Professional Review and Guide
"Hobble Creek runs through a small canyon east of Springville—not the biggest creek or the biggest canyon. The campground is often passed over for consideration by campers who opt for the highest mountain, deepest lake, or lowest valley. Those campers can have their superlatives, though, because what Hobble Creek Canyon does offer is a tranquil and serene setting for campers who love their solitude.
The campsites at Balsam are spread out along the banks of Hobble Creek—some of which are accessible by footbridge only. That means tent camping reigns supreme here. Enter the camp from Canyon Drive, and you’ll immediately see the group campsite to your right. A large parking lot and vault toilets sit on a small plateau above the river. Keep on the main road and pass the host to find the individual campsites.
