West Downtown Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The city’s traditional commercial heart, south of Temple Square, was a massive construction zone as the new City Creek Center was being born. The Gateway, however, was the community’s first modern open-air shopping mall, having opened in 2001 on downtown’s western fringe. It has since become a premier gathering place, with a tony central artery, office buildings, and more than 100 stores and restaurants. It plays host to popular annual events, such as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the holiday lighting, and the final leg of the Salt Lake City Marathon."
