This is a stroll, make that a leisurely procession, through the oldest state university campus west of the Missouri River: the University of Utah. Much of the modern campus was once part of a military camp established during the Civil War, Fort Douglas. So the U, on the hillside bench east of downtown, overlooks the Salt Lake Valley, with outstanding views of the Wasatch and Oquirrh mountain ranges.
