Mill Creek Canyon Road Ride Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Although Mill Creek Canyon is the only central Wasatch canyon requiring a use fee (for motorists only), it is certainly one of the most popular summer destinations for car tourists, picnickers, anglers, hikers, and mountain bikers. The curvy road is a delight for road bikers, too. The road’s stair-step rise—alternating steep and gentle grades—effectively breaks up the monotony of the climb and will keep your gears active.
Over the first half of the ride, you’ll salivate over the smoky aroma of dogs and burgers being grilled by picnickers; later on your lungs will fill with the sweet scent of pine. And all the while Mill Creek tumbles alongside the road, singing a dainty melody that encourages you to go on. Mill Creek Canyon Road is popular with motorists, so ride in single file, stay to the far right side of the road, and use extra caution when descending because curves are blind and motorists might not be anticipating your approach."
