Quail Creek

Quail Creek Professional Review and Guide

"The trail starts at the west side of the parking area, crossing sandy benches as it passes through open areas near the mouth of the canyon. Soon, however, the canyon walls close in. About 1 mile up the canyon, you reach an especially narrow channel through the slickrock, with two large water-filled potholes.

Those in for a short hike may want to stop here to take in the sun or to take a dip in the potholes, which are large enough to swim in. To reach the upper pool, or to continue the hike, you need to bypass the first pool by traversing a sloping section of slickrock."
