Lake Atwood

Lake Atwood Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Lake Atwood houses one of the largest brook trout populations in the High Uintas. With this in mind, you just may want to throw your line in here and forget about all the surrounding lakes. Bad decision!

Atwood receives most of the attention in this basin, and angling may be hampered by semi-crowded shorelines. Allred and Mt. Emmons Lakes have the same problem. Although fast fishing usually occurs, so do a lot of people. This is partly because Atwood and Allred offer the best camping opportunities in Atwood Basin. Lake Atwood loses much of its appeal later in the summer, when it draws down about 15 feet."
