Kings Peak via the Uinta Trailhead

Kings Peak via the Uinta Trailhead Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This route to the highest point in Utah is a bit more leisurely than the Swift Creek Trail. There is time to relax, soak up the adventure, and go fishing. The Uinta trail- head could also serve as a great entry for an extended backpacking trip into the High Uintas. Have friends drop you off and meet you at a different trailhead a couple of weeks later.

Hikers should consider this as a multiple-day excursion with plenty to see and fish to catch along the way. Many make this a five-day, four-night outing, and some spend an entire week. Start at the Uinta trailhead and follow the old road 0.8 mile to the Smokey Springs Day Use Area. Then follow the trail along the Uinta River through the forest for 2.2 miles to the sheep bridge crossing the river. The trail splits at this
point."
