Utah Lake Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"While most visit this 96,600-acre lake for boating, there is a great diversity of fishing here. Because it is quite shallow and at a low elevation, Utah Lake warms early in the year and provides the first opportunity of open-water spring fishing. The lake is serviced by Utah Lake State Park.
The island is a good place to start for walleye, white bass, and catfish. The state announced a warning for the level of PCBs in carp at Utah Lake in the spring of 2006. Expect the other species, ones people are a lot more fond of eating, to make the consumption advisory in the future. It’s not that the fish are suddenly becoming toxic, only that they haven’t been tested. Fishing Index: The most commonly caught fish at Utah Lake is white bass."
