The Three Temptations

The Three Temptations Professional Review and Guide

"Looking for a backcountry ski zone blessedly devoid of Central Wasatch traffic? The Three Temptations in American Fork Canyon is a safe bet. The “three” refers to triple snowfields that become ravines between four ridges that spill down from the Little Cottonwood Divide for nearly 3500 vertical feet to the bottom of Deer Creek Canyon. The terrain features a huge, tasty-looking face above those tempting spines, where you can find dozens of skiable lines, but watch out for dangerous terrain traps in between. The only problem is timing. The south-facing Three Temptations is often sun crusted, so plan your trip right after it snows. Also, be prepared for a long approach from the trailhead."
