Mount Timpanogos North

Mount Timpanogos North Professional Review and Guide

"The mammoth west face of “Timp” stretches 5 miles wide and falls more than 5,000 feet to the Happy Valley and Provo Lake. Few ski peaks in the Lower 48—and none in Utah—exceed the 11,750-foot “Sleeping Maiden” for sheer volume of uplifted terrain.

Mount Nebo is a close second, and many Uinta, La Sal, and Tushar summits are higher, but the ridge that extends from American Fork Canyon to Provo Canyon rises 4,000 feet above the surrounding land for 4 amazing miles of ski terrain. The North Summit, Grunge Couloir, Woolly Hole, Pika Cirque, and Northwest Couloirs are best accessed from the north. Cross-country skiing is possible on Timpooneke Road."
