Monks Hollow

Monks Hollow Professional Review and Guide

"As members of the muscle-powered family of recreationists, mountain bikers tend to frown upon energy-consumptive, exhaust-spitting, and otherwise deafening ATVs. But one good thing can be said about our axled brethren: they sure can pack down a good trail. Such is the case with Diamond Fork’s Monks Hollow Trail. This designated ATV route is ideal for mountain bikes, and the narrow double-track is built for speed. The generally smooth, packed-dirt trail is the main attraction. But there are some good vistas along the way.

Early on, the back sides of Provo Peak and Mount Timpanogos line the distant western skyline. Farther up the trail, Spanish Fork Peak and Loafer Mountain vie for your attention. At the trail’s summit, the tri-peaked arête of Mount Nebo cracks the southern horizon. Tread: ATV trail: a narrow doubletrack to pessimists or dual single tracks for optimists."
