Reservation Ridge Trail

Reservation Ridge Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Reservation Ridge Trail starts out along wide, maintained FR 147 and passes through the thick Engelmann, lodgepole, and aspen of Ashley National Forest. The start of the road is graded from time to time and could easily be driven by a 2WD car. Over the course of the next 4 miles it slowly deteriorates into a more typical forest road. The Avintaquin campground is located 1.1 miles into the trail on the right side and has limited facilities.

Special Attractions: Great views as you journey through the Ashley National Forest; Access to a network of 4WD trails; Aspen viewing in the fall. High-clearance vehicles are preferred, but not necessary. This trail is dirt roads, but may have rocks, grades, water crossings, or ruts that make clearance a concern in a normal passenger vehicle. The trail is fairly wide, so that passing is possible at almost any point along the trail. Mud is not a concern under normal weather conditions."
