After fighting heavy traffic for hours on our way south, it was a relief to turn off onto this deserted scenic drive. Be warned, though, the beginning of the route is not marked well and would be rather easy to miss. There are several campgrounds along this route, none of which offer showers. There are abundant opportunities for free camping right along the road. Most of the sites are extremely scenic, however, nearly all of them have either been trashed or dont have very level ground for tents. There is also a lifetimes worth of hiking to be done, both on the trail and off. There was a game trail leading through our camp, which we followed to a terrific hilltop clear of vegetation that allowed us to see everything around us, with an especially great view of Mt. Nebo. If you just want to stay near the car, there are still plenty of scenic pullouts with views to every direction. I would definitely recommend this drive to anyone who will be in the area, whether you can spend a few hours or a few days.
