The Canyons Ski Resort Professional Review and Guide
"Until 1997 this small area, which was first called Park West and then Wolf Mountain, was favored by local residents eager to get away from the crowds and tourists who headed several miles farther south to ski Park City or Deer Valley. The American Ski Company took full advantage of building an entirely new resort from scratch by designing an easily negotiated system of trails and lifts above a plaza-style base complex.
Commitment to the resort is such that ASC moved its headquarters from Maine to Park City in 2002. The people-friendly focus extends to an open-air, four-passenger gondola, called a cabriolet, to transport you and your gear uphill from the lower parking lot and back down at the end of an exhilarating, exhausting day pounding the powder. This chapter contains a thorough description of the resort including how to get there, mountain statistics, trail profiles, lodging, dining, nightlife, and entertainment."
