Summit Park Peak Professional Review and Guide

"If you’re a backcountry skier living in Park City, you know access options are severely limited. With ski resort expansion swallowing up the entire Park City ridgeline, touring from one of America’s most famous ski towns can be disheartening. So it’s no wonder that Summit Park Peak is so dang popular. This small mountain at the top of Parleys Summit is one of the few places to make backcountry turns in the area, is easy to reach, and boasts one of the best 360-degree views in the county. Plus, the skiing isn’t bad either. Descent routes are plentiful. You can drop in anywhere along the Summit Park Peak ridgeline, where you’ll find open glades. You can also ski from the summit, though the trees are steeper and thicker here. A good rule of thumb in Summit Park is if you ski into thick trees, traverse left or right until you reach another open glade. You can link open tree skiing in this way until you reach the trailhead or Matterhorn Drive for a short walk back to the car."
