Red Canyon Loop (Dixie National Forest) Professional Review and Guide
"A day-hiking route through Red Canyon encompassing portions of the Cassidy, Rich, and Ledge Point Trails in Dixie National Forest. This moderate route is pieced together with portions of the Cassidy, Rich, and Ledge Point Trails, making a loop through Red Canyon. These trails are also used by horse parties from April through October. Hikers who encounter horses on the trail should step aside and yield the right-of-way.
Every year, visitors are awed by the spectacular geological formations and brilliant colors of Bryce Canyon National Park. The towering hoodoos, spires, and natural bridges seem to deny all reason or explanation, leaving hikers gazing skyward with jaws agape in wondrous incredulity. The forces that created Bryce Canyon are still at work today. The bedrock originated sixty million years ago, when southern Utah held a series of low-lying lakebeds."
