Cascade Saddle

Cascade Saddle Professional Review and Guide

"The climb through a series of small alpine bowls is beautiful, although the steepness may prevent you from fully appreciating it. The last 0.5 mile is straight up, but the ridge-top view is breathtaking. You’ll see much of Utah Valley to the east and the Uinta Mountains to the west."

It is a nice hike and I enjoyed it... but for the work involved I think there are better choices with better views. The bowl was ok, but I have been in so many better. You gain almost 3500 feet in three miles with no switchbacks. The trail just climbs strait up for miles. I do cardio for 1-2 hours 5 times a week, ran 5 half marathons in the last year and hike at least once a week... all that to say this trail still kicked my butt. I enjoyed the hike, but a ton work with not enough pay off.
