Red Hollow

Red Hollow Professional Review and Guide

"An out and back wilderness route up a short, picturesque canyon. As the route enters the mouth of the canyon, a high bank presents itself on the left side. It soon gives way to red cliffs that extend down to the canyon floor.

The canyon soon splits into two short branches, each of which invites further exploration. Both branches are wooded with Gambel oak, juniper, and ponderosa pine. Hikers should not attempt to climb onto the sloping canyon walls; they may be easy to ascend, but they are almost impossible to get back down."

A beautiful, easy little canyon hike. We stopped here on the way from the North Rim to Bryce and thoroughly enjoyed the break it provided from driving.

Great intro to slot canyons for a family--not a long hike in, real slot canyon feeling. We did see a lot of wasps.
