Monte Cristo Campground

Ogden, Utah

Monte Cristo Campground Professional Review and Guide

"One big reason for Monte Cristo’s popularity is its location—not just where it sits in the state, but where it sits on the mountain. Ogden and Weber County residents favor this place for its proximity to home. It’s only an hour or so from Ogden, but in terms of atmosphere, it’s a world away.

Other fine campgrounds can be found along the way, especially between Pineview Reservoir and the junction with Causey Road. In fact, if UT 39 is still closed from winter, there’s a chance that one of these lower campgrounds will be open. Campers love that when UT 39 finally does open, there’s a sheltered campground at 9,000 feet, right off the highway, shaded by beautiful aspens and enormous evergreens."
