Shay Mountain Trail

Shay Mountain Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This hike is for experienced hikers familiar with routefinding and map reading. Shay Mountain is heavily grazed, so expect cows in summer. Despite the bovine intrusion, this area is one of the least traveled in this book.

At the summit, below you lie steep cliffs forested with aspens and pines on top, then pinyon-juniper, giving way to the underlying red sandstone cliff strata from which the entire canyonlands area has eroded."
