Thompson Canyon

Thompson Canyon Professional Review and Guide

"This trail provides respite from Moab’s hot summer temperatures as it climbs over 8,000 feet into the La Sal Mountains. The scenic drive through Castle Valley is enhanced when viewed from high in the mountains. Once on the trail, enjoy scenery reminiscent of Colorado.

This trail is part of Kokopelli’s Bike Trail so watch for bikers. When dry, most of this trail is easy except for a few moderately steep, rocky sections. Wet conditions can make the trail difficult and even impassable. One section of shelf road can become slippery and dangerous when wet. Suitable for stock, high-clearance, four-wheel-drive vehicles when dry. Route-finding is easy."
