Salt Wash Overlook Trail

Salt Wash Overlook Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This short, sandy spur trail leads past some very interesting uranium mining remains, and it ends on a slickrock platform above picturesque Salt Wash. Salt Wash is a little-known area; it has no vehicle access and sees very little human activity of any kind.

Special Attractions: Panoramic view over remote Salt Wash; Remains of the Black A uranium mine. High-clearance 4WDs are preferred, but any high-clearance vehicle is acceptable. Expect a rough road surface; mud and sand are possible but will be easily passable. You may encounter rocks up to 6 inches in diameter, a loose road surface, and shelf roads, though these will be wide enough for passing or will have adequate pull-offs."
