Mill Canyon Mesa and Joe Camel Loop

Mill Canyon Mesa and Joe Camel Loop Professional Review and Guide

"The Rainbow Rocks area gets its name from the multi-colored Entrada sandstone layers that have eroded into a myriad of scenic buttes, mounds, gullies, canyons, and spires. Rides in this area are on clay, hardpack, bedrock, and loose rock, but the dominant surfaces here are sand and slickrock--heaven and hell. Routes in Rainbow Rocks can be linked for increased mileage and challenge, if you are bent on the hardcore.

Extended routes in this area are best accomplished with a guide the first time you ride out here. Chances are you will be all right if you are strong and bring enough water to allow for getting lost, but the environment will not fair as well if you have walk across the crypto to find a way back. Please be kind to this area. It is one of the very best."
