Hidden Canyon Wash Trail

Hidden Canyon Wash Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This short trail leads into the extremely scenic Hidden Canyon, with its walls of colored slickrock. The canyon is not particularly deep, and it has a wide, sandy valley floor. The trail starts off as a graded track, but the road standard quickly drops to a very loose sandy track. It follows the wash into the canyon before descending to run in the wash toward Southeast #9: Bartlett Wash Trail. The sand in the canyon is difficult to traverse, being very deep and loose. You will probably need to lower tire pressures to avoid bogging down.

Special Attractions: Multicolored sandstone domes of Hidden Canyon; Fun, sandy trail to explore; Very pretty canyon and creek wash. High-clearance 4WDs are required. This trail has either a rough, rutted surface, rocks up to 9 inches, mud and deep sand that may be impassable for inexperienced drivers, or stream crossings up to 18 inches deep. Certain sections may be steep enough to cause traction problems, and you may encounter very narrow shelf roads with steep drop-offs and tight clearance between rocks or trees."
