Hidden Canyon Rim Escape Trail

Hidden Canyon Rim Escape Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This short trail is a quick and exciting route from Hidden Canyon Rim Trail up to Bartlett Rim Trail. The trail begins by climbing up a section of slickrock marked by a cairn. After the first section, it swings around to the southwest and climbs a second very steep, smooth slickrock face. Special Attractions: Short challenging trail that links Hidden Canyon Rim Trail and Bartlett Rim Trail.

This trail is for experienced four-wheel drivers only. It is potentially dangerous, with large rocks, ruts, or terraces that may need to be negotiated. It may also have stream crossings at least 18 inches deep, involve rapid currents, unstable stream bottoms, or difficult access; steep slopes, loose surfaces, and narrow clearances; or very narrow sections of shelf road with steep drop-offs and potentially challenging road surfaces."

Very knarly. Go prepared. Rains from a month ago completely changed trail. Lockers a must. Pretty substantial water crossing. Have fun!!
