Fiery Furnace: Arches National Park Professional Review and Guide
"A ranger-guided tour of a rare desert environment. To see the Fiery Furnace area of Arches National Park, you should take a ranger-led tour. You can explore the area by yourself with a hiking permit obtained at the park’s visitor center, but I highly recommend signing up for the guided tour, where you’ll learn ten times more than you would on your own, and you won’t get lost. Also, you will have much less impact on this fragile desert environment.
You can reserve a spot in the morning tours through Recreation.gov, but for afternoon tours and for tours anytime during the shoulder seasons, you have to sign up in person at the visitor center. Because of the rough terrain, the NPS only allows hikers over 5 years old. For current information on Fiery Furnace tours, follow the links on the park’s website at www.nps.gov/arch."
