Colorado River Overlook

Colorado River Overlook Professional Review and Guide

"This is a ride on a mostly sandy 4WD track to where Salt Canyon wash drops into the Colorado River. The ride leaves from the needles Visitor Center across a magical landscape of strange sandstone knobs.

It is especially beautiful and perfect for less skilled riders, though it does have a few technical challenges near the end where ledgy bedrock will make you twist around for a clean line. Once at the overlook be careful not to get too close to the edge. Be sure to walk over to the left for the view into Salt Canyon. Trail Surface: 4WD road over sand, hardpack, loose rock, and sculpted bedrock."
