Canyonlands Overlook

Canyonlands Overlook Professional Review and Guide

"This trail in the Canyon rims Recreation area offers a moderate challenge combined with amazing vistas. If you like the idea of riding up to the rim of the Grand Canyon on a mountain bike, then this ride is pretty close to the majesty, minus the crowds.

The ride is suitable for fit novices to intermediate riders. There is a lot of sand to negotiate along the trail, but the route is punctuated with areas of slickrock. The long sandy straightway can be boring to some, and it gets very hot in summer, but the view and terrain at the end of the ride is worth the trip. Trail Surface: Sand, bedrock, slickrock, and loose rock on a 4WD track."
