Canyonlands National Park Spanish Bottom

Canyonlands National Park: Spanish Bottom Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A short, steep hike down to the Colorado River. The Spanish Bottom Trail drops steeply from the trailhead all the way down to the Colorado River, hitting the river just after the Colorado has absorbed the Green River.

Even though the trail drops about 1,100 feet in about a mile, it’s still the easiest way to get to the Colorado River from the Doll House area. The well-constructed trail with frequent switchbacks partly mitigates the steepness. The trail is well
defined and well marked the entire way."

"A short hike with some stunning scenery and cultural history. The first part of the hike (which follows the same route as the Spanish Bottom Trail) is actually part of a small loop. After less than a half mile of flat, easy hiking through the Doll House towers, you reach a junction. Take a right (southwest) 114 Canyonlands and Arches National Parksand head to the Granary instead of dropping off the edge of the plateau to Spanish Bottom." Read more
