In Canyonlands and Arches National Parks near Moab in southeast Utah, visitors find it all. The countryside offers up everything from desert to mountains, narrow slot canyons, wide vistas, and all things in between. Of course, the main attractions at each of these parks are the vast canyons of Canyonlands and the wonderful and awe-inspiring sandstone formations at Arches. Part of the geologic region known as the Colorado Plateau, it’s a paradise for photographers and other artists; in fact, it’s a paradise of sorts for all who come to visit. Campgrounds included in this eTrail are: Willow Flat, Dead Horse Point State Park, Devils Garden, Dewey Bottom, Hittle Bottom, Big Bend Recreation Site, Hal Canyon / Oak Grove, Goose Island, Jay Cee Park, Sand Flats Recreation Area, Kane Creek, Warner Lake, Canyon Rims Recreation Area (Hatch Point & Wind Whistle), and Squaw Flat.

Big Bend Campground. Camping on the banks of the Colorado. Camped here June 07. Tough to rate as it was the views were unbelievable and there is a beach to go swimming at. It was as hot as the blazes all night long though. There are some shaded sites, but the only place to stay cool is in the river.
