Owl Creek to Nevills Arch Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Nevills Arch is the highlight of this premier day hike. It can be part of a longer, multiday hike from Owl Creek to Fish Creek Loop. This specific route is one of the few hikes in the Cedar Mesa region not aimed at visiting Anasazi ruins, although you are still likely to see ancient granaries and dwellings. A perennial stream, riparian foliage, deep pools, several pour-offs, and exciting stretches of slickrock walking make this an attractive day hike.
Although the hike to Nevills Arch is much easier without the burden of a backpack, the route is not suitable for novice canyon country hikers. Routefinding, scrambling, and steep slickrock friction pitches en route down Owl Creek Canyon demand that hikers have previous canyoneering experience."
