Grand Gulch - Collins Canyon Trail

Grand Gulch - Collins Canyon Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Grand Gulch and its side canyons offer a number of interesting routes for extended backpacking in southeastern Utah. Personally, I have found the lower part of Grand Gulch, between Bullet Canyon and Collins Canyon, to be especially appealing. This portion of the Gulch is wilder and receives far fewer visitors than the section above Bullet Canyon, yet it contains many points of interest.

Of course, the main attraction is the canyon's Anasazi Indian ruins. When I did this hike in 1999 I spotted no fewer than twenty cliff dwelling and pictograph sites, and I am certain many more could be found-especially if one takes the time to walk into some of the side canyons along the way."
