Wellsville Mountains

Wellsville Mountains Professional Review and Guide

"A point-to-point hike to the crest of the Wellsville Mountains Wilderness. Enjoy views of Cache Valley extending north into Idaho, west past the Promontory and Raft River Ranges, and south to the Great Salt Lake. Fall raptor migrations offer exciting hawk-watching. Numerous trails ascend the eastern slopes of the Wellsvilles from Cache Valley.

The Wellsville Mountains have been called the steepest mountains in the world. After climbing the precipitous east side and gazing down the rugged west side to the oxbow bends of the Bear River, you’ll agree. The hike is worth it, however, because this northern Utah range offers some splendid views from the ridge."
