Tony Grove is the all-American campground. This sizable but tidy location has it all: a nearby lake full of lively fish, entrance to a fantastic trail system that leads to lakes and wilderness, easy access, and great campsites with plenty of room to set out your stuff. Set deep in Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest off US 89, this perfect little playground at 8,000 feet does everything right. You’ll wander up the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway and turn off onto Forest Road 003. As the road weaves its way up to Tony Grove, you pass through the lower canyon brush and then stands of aspens that finally give way to spruce, pine, and fir. The drive alone is worth the trip, destination notwithstanding.
