South Fork Ogden River

South Fork Ogden River Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"An abundance of USDA Forest Service campgrounds make this a popular summer destination for Wasatch Front residents. That can hurt fishing at times, largely because many recreationists like to float on inner tubes down the river in the summer months.

There is a good paved trail, and there are some wheelchair-accessible fishing docks near the Perception Park campground. This is a good place to take a novice fly fisher looking to gain some confidence. In the winter, when the crowds are gone, look for bald eagles roosting in the trees above the river. Key Species: Cutthroat trout, brown trout, rainbow trout, and whitefish."
