Forks of Huntington Campground

Forks of Huntington Campground Professional Review and Guide

"Stay at Forks of Huntington while you’re trying to devise a way to pick your favorite river, and you’ll be in perfect striking distance of all three. You’ll be plenty comfortable— especially if you came with friends. Site 1, a group site, will hold you and up to 49 of your nearest and dearest. Then the camp road rambles up the river to sites 2 and 3, which sit right next to each other and share a water spigot.

Another trip up the road puts you at sites 4 and 5, also next-door neighbors. The camp road ends in a small loop with a restroom and the loner of the group, site 6. This is the most private of the sites when it comes to spacing, but it doesn’t offer much cover from the road and visitors on their way to the restroom. Still, it’s probably the site of choice. With any lesser campground, a nearby hiking trail would be a great bonus, but at Forks of Huntington it’s something to write home about. This isn’t just any trail: it’s the Left Fork of Huntington Canyon National Recreation Trail. A simple, connect-the-dots hike, it links Forks of Huntington Campground and Miller Flat Reservoir."
