"Do ya wanna get lost? No, we’re not talking about losing your direction, but we are contemplating losing the vast majority of crowds that trample the Stillwater Trail. Kermsuh is a gorgeous, isolated lake situated in rocky, timbered country just inside the wilderness area. Upon arrival you’ll be greeted by several high peaks, including Hayden, Kletting, and A–1. These major peaks have connecting ridges that almost completely enclose the West Basin. This feature, and the fact that Kermsuh is the only lake in the basin, makes the area a remote and peaceful place." Read more

Great hike in the high Uintas; beautiful lake. Lots of downed trees, though, making it hard to relocate the trail in spots after it breaks off the main trail along Stillwater Fork from Christmas Meadows. Also, the trail through the meadow below Kermsuh Lake becomes hard to follow, with a couple of stream crossings. A GPS really helped on this one but the way through the meadow is straightforward. The trail doesn't have too much elevation gain until the branch from Stillwater.
