North Summit Ridge, Mount Ellen Professional Review and Guide

"The shortest drive, most efficient climb, and longest, most consistently filled-in ski shots in the Henrys are located here on the east side of the north peak of Mount Ellen.

A trail that was once a four-wheel-drive road leaves from the idyllic picnic site at Dandelion Flat, where there’s a toilet and a sign that reads Log Flat 1, East Saddle 4. Half a mile farther up the road is the lovely Lonesome Beaver Campground. Leave the auto road at Dandelion Flat and skin or hike along East Pass Road as it immediately crosses Bull Creek. It can be hard to find at Dandelion Flat, but it parallels the main road west of a tributary creek until a divide. The left fork goes to Lonesome Beaver Campground. Ignore it and go right; if you’re on the right trail, it will begin to switchback steeply up to the west."
