Three Fingers Petroglyphs Trail

Three Fingers Petroglyphs Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The trail to the Three Fingers petroglyphs starts out rather easy and remains so until the more difficult final 2 miles. The first section of road is periodically graded and runs through a number of wash crossings and sandy spots. This part of the trail is relatively flat but very scenic, with a typical red mesa to the left and the windblown reef on the right.

Special Attractions: Three Fingers petroglyphs; A short, scenic spur trail that can be combined with Black Dragon Pictographs Trail. High-clearance 4WDs are required. This trail has either a rough, rutted surface, rocks up to 9 inches, mud and deep sand that may be impassable for inexperienced drivers, or stream crossings up to 18 inches deep. Certain sections may be steep enough to cause traction problems, and you may encounter very narrow shelf roads with steep drop-offs and tight clearance between rocks or trees."
