Reds Canyon and Hondoo Arch Drive Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This tour goes deep into the primitive and spectacular San Rafael Swell. It enters beautiful Reds Canyon and passes Tomsich Butte, Hondoo Arch and Temple Mountain. Historic Swasey Cabin (same family as Sid Swazey) is worth the short side trip, and there are spurs to explore as well.
At the south end of the tour are some ancient, alienlike Barrier Canyon–style pictographs, an eerie style of pictograph thought to be thousands of years old, and the bizarre rock figures at Goblin Valley State Park. If you have the time, consider the optional visit to Little Wild Horse Canyon, where there is a popular canyon hiking trail and a road to Muddy Creek, through a varicolored moonscape of bentonite hills. Spring and fall are the best seasons to visit."
