Green River Cutoff

Green River Cutoff Professional Review and Guide

"The trail follows a wide, two-lane maintained country road with a gravel surface. Though a 1-rated trail, in wet weather it can become impassable. The only parts that might pose a problem in dry weather are thick sections of powder-fine dust that create huge clouds and block your vision if a car passes. Navigation is straightforward throughout, as all the side roads are much smaller.

Special Attractions: Picturesque entrance to this route through a narrow, boulder- strewn canyon; Historic region includes part of the Spanish Trail and the original route of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad; Easy backcountry road offering alternative access to Buckhorn Wash Trail from either Price or Green River. This trail is graded dirt but suitable for a normal passenger vehicle. It usually has gentle grades, is fairly wide, and has very shallow water crossings (if any)."
