Green River Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Green in southeastern Utah is a different river than the one that comes out of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. By the time the Green has come back into Utah from Colorado, it is no longer a river fit for cold-water species like trout.

Although there are some big trout in the Green, primarily where tributaries enter the river, catfish rule the lower stretches before it meets with the Colorado in Canyonlands National Park. People floating the river for white-water excitement do most of the Green’s fishing. Key Species: Channel catfish, northern pike, and smallmouth bass."
