Metal Masher Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"This trail features two well-known obstacles—Rock Chucker and Widowmaker. Rock Chucker is a side obstacle and is entirely optional. During the Easter Jeep Safari that I attended, only 4 out of 25 vehicles attempted it. Widowmaker is somewhat easier. Most vehicles got up but some needed tow-strap assistance. In addition to tough challenges, the scenery along the northwest ridgeline is outstanding. Many high rock ledges with tight maneuvering required in several places. While some of the most difficult obstacles can be bypassed, the remaining ones are still difficult. I’ve seen stock vehicles get through but not without the help of an occasional tow strap or winch. In these cases, body damage is common. Vehicle modifications and lockers are recommended. Route-finding is easy most of the way but a two mile stretch of slickrock is extremely confusing."
