Currant Creek Reservoir

Currant Creek Reservoir Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Some call this “Mini-Strawberry.” The road is kept open in the winter when conditions allow. The USDA Forest Service runs a 99-site campground at the reservoir. The ramp and campground are located on the west side. Key Species: Rainbow trout and cutthroat trout.

Because it is so close to Strawberry, pressure is relatively light at Currant Creek Reservoir. Fishing is usually fair to excellent for Bear Lake cutthroat and stocked rainbows. Fish up to 5 pounds are not uncommon. In cooler weather, the fish are near the surface and can be caught with brightly colored lures."
