River Ford to Cathedral Valley Drive

River Ford to Cathedral Valley Drive Professional Review and Guide

"Fording the Fremont River is a unique desert experience, and the moonscape of the Bentonite Hills is a strange sight indeed. The overlooks at Cathedral Valley are spectacular, and the subtle hues and eroded rocks of Caineville Wash are fascinating, especially in the golden light of late afternoon. The trip is best in late spring and fall.

In the park, pets must be leashed and are restricted to road corridors. Camp only in designated sites. Wood gathering is prohibited. Fires are allowed only in provided receptacles. Removing anything from the park is illegal. There are no services along this route."

This loop and Cathedral Valley is spectacular. It can be done easily in good weather just high clearance is needed in some spots but not 4x4. However in wet weather pick something else because the bentonite can become impossable with a little miosture. The panoramas are awesome!
