Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Located 16 miles east of Fairview north of Huntington, Huntington is a popular fishing destination. During dam reconstruction in 1988, a well-preserved 9,500-old skeleton of a mammoth was discovered.

Since then, many have taken to calling it Mammoth Reservoir, but it still shows up on maps as Huntington Reservoir. Some parking is provided along the highway. Key Species: Tiger trout and cutthroat trout."
