Huntington Canyon Scenic Byway Professional Review and Guide
"A 48-mile drive over the Wasatch Plateau in the heart of the coal region. Huntington Canyon Scenic Byway climbs atop the Wasatch Plateau and provides some far-ranging views. The scenic byway remains on UT 31, past the junction with Utah Highway 264 (Eccles Canyon Scenic Byway, described in this book). Huntington Canyon Scenic Byway rolls across the plateau, and provides a beautiful view of Fairview Lakes. Continuing along, the views broaden to include the verdant San Pitch River Valley to the west and the San Pitch Mountains and Mount Nebo Wilderness to the northwest.
The two-lane road is paved and has frequent scenic turnouts. Traffic is generally light to moderate, except during the fall hunting season when it gets very busy. Watch for big trucks going to and from the mines. Special attractions: Lakes, fishing, camping, far-ranging vistas, picnicking, Eccles Canyon Scenic Byway."
