Eccles Energy CanyonChallenge Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Eccles Energy Canyon Challenge is a 56.0-mile, mountainous out-and-back ride that takes cyclists up Cottonwood Canyon to the crest of the Wasatch Plateau, down Eccles Canyon to Mud Creek Canyon, then up Mud Creek Canyon to Clear Creek. The Huntington Canyon/Eccles Canyon Scenic Byways are among the most scenic in all of Utah.
This is notwithstanding the extraordinary routes that penetrate southern Utah’s “necklace” of national parks, monuments, and recreation areas. There are no national parks here—just a national forest—but the region arguably could be a national park. The byways comprise the so-called Energy Loop; one begins in Huntington, while the other begins near Scofield. The two highways converge on the crest of the Wasatch Plateau and then descend rather steeply into Fairview."
